Real estate, leases, construction contracts and building works
I assist private clients, investors and businesses in real estate transactions, including abroad, and in disputes arising from the management of property: leases, construction contracts, defects.
From the outset I identify the deadlines to be met and the evidence needed to protect the client.

I have found a defect in the property I bought: by when must I act?
The contract, the nature of the defect and the date of discovery should be checked promptly. Deadlines for notifying a defect and for bringing a claim vary from case to case and may be short. The relevant dates should be stated from the first contact: I will explain how to send the documents and preserve the evidence.
The tenant is not paying the rent: how does one proceed?
After reviewing the contract, a formal demand is usually sent and, if payment does not follow, eviction proceedings for non-payment are started, which may lead to an order for possession. Together we also assess the recovery of arrears and the available security, such as the deposit or a guarantee.
The building contractor is behind with the works: what can I do?
The first step is to read the construction contract: deadlines, penalties, variations and guarantees. It is often advisable to document the state of the works with a technical expert and send a formal notice of objection. From there, the options are to negotiate, apply the penalties, call the guarantees or seek termination of the contract.
